As told by Blitzen:
Summer 2006:
In the "wake", (pun intended), of the implementation of Ship Player Killing, Blitzen quickly became hooked upon the notion of sea battles against sea monsters and pirates. At the time Blitzen only had a Dromond, not the strongest of vessels. Now, being a low levelled 120 at the time, I viewed the opportunity of SPK to find my niche in Alyria. Not being supremely interested in regular PK or the similar, I saw this as a possible chance to gain renown for myself and my clan; my clan comes into this because we still maintain 5 fully upgraded Super Dreadnoughts for the day Pirates swash the buckles of Alyria. After mathematically figuring the damaging power of each ship and the ammo needed for each ship, (private trade secrets), I started with a comprehensive set of ship marks, to ensure I could sail anywhere at a moment's notice if needed. After writing a sailing guide for novices, (submitted to MM), I wanted to share the ship mark guide with the public.
I created http://mmblitzen.tripod.com Within 2 months it was fully prepared with all current sailing knowledge. Asking opinions people had on it, my friend and clan leader Basstian convinced me to move to Bravenet. It is in this form that you see the Wharf now; a new format, and crowded with avid sailors every day.
September 2007:
The advent of NPC Pirate Ships has come at last. Major updates to the site have taken place, with more information on all pages; (but I still have the 1337 info!).
